CLOU has been part of the Prague scene since 2001. The members of the band are Lukáš Vyhnal (vocals, originally from the town of Příbram), Petr Vaško (guitar, originally from Chomutov), Bugsy (bass, originally from California) and Rae Tomášek (drums, forever and ever from Prague).In October 2002 Soundogs Records released CLOU‘s single CD „First“ containing three tracks that later appeared on other compilations and became part of a number of skate/snowboard and BMX video soundtracks.CLOU’s inspiration comes from a great variety of genres. Their sound is full of energetic, emotional and melodic tunes mixed with distinctive punk-rock and post-hardcore influences, making them comparable to bands such as Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Spitalfield, Yellowcard and Green Day. Their music also contains a considerable number of classic pop elements.CLOU released their debut album “Postcards” in March 2005 and immediately attracted the attention of all major Czech media and earned a tremendous critical acclaim. Their first single “Island Sun” hit the top-charts on most Czech radio stations shortly after its release. The video for this song, directed and produced by the Czech prominent cameraman Richard Řeřicha, has appeared on MTV Europe alongside the videos of other leading musicians.
